Continuous Innovation
Continuous Innovation Training: yes, this works!
Hear and you will forget - Do and you will remember forever
The Continuous Innovation (CI) Training is organised per “wave” of about 20 so called CI-leads. In a first 3-day session, focus was on getting to know the concept of Continuous Improvement – in fact, it turned out quite quickly in a practical session for the enthusiastic BTO CI-leads. Two Belgian Stanwick trainers were driving the training process; concepts of Process Excellence were explained and immediately exercised in small break-away groups. The plant was visited to sample even more concrete examples for further study.
Focus of this Continuous Improvement is, in a first phase, on innovative proposals that an operator can implement without high costs or resources. Target is at least one proposal per operator per year. The BTO CI leads will coach their colleagues in basic Process Excellence tools. The first wave training also introduced a pragmatic brainstorm.
Impressive results
CI sponsor Andre Hoekstra and CI project manager Bart Van Hell were impressed by the results of the training. Also the trainees were enthusiastic. One of the trainees mentioned this training was a good investment to enhance motivation and process improvement. The second training wave (3 days) will tackle a number of items more profoundly. To be continued...
